Howdy Pardner,
As Jed Clampett used to say - WOOOO DOGGIES!!!
Our Halloween SpookTacular event happened last night and, if we do say so ourselves, it was a ROUSING SUCCESS!
We were hoping for at least 8-10 shooters but we just didn't know. Nineteen showed up and some drove a fer' piece!!! A brand new shooter, Jay Hynson, who's alias is Captain Parmenter (from TV's F-Troop) came from Knoxville (he shot a CLEAN match by the way... so he's not welcome back... JUST KIDDING), Highway, Lever Action Lexie and Sawbrar' drove from North Carolina, Bull And Hillbilly came from Virginia along with Bona Fide who traveled from Sevierville and Wild Wiz are just a few that we can think of that journeyed over an hour or more to shoot with us. Many, in fact drive over an hour to our range on regular basis. THANK YOU! We appreciate you more than you know and that's a fact.
Here's another fact. Everyone had a GREAT time at this shoot! The black powder shooters had flames and sparks coming out of their guns that were almost touching the targets and Johnny and Montana Hannah brought some cool lights that projected pictures onto the walls, roof, and barrels on stage one!!! How cool is that!!! Napa Belle and Sidewinder provided pasta and finger sandwiches, the club chipped in for pizzas & treats and Sidewinder heated up some apple cider. He even brought commemorative mugs for everyone to take home! Yep. This match was a hum dinger.
Our Next Match is Saturday November 1st which is the weekend of the North Carolina State Match. We have at least five shooters that will be attending that match but the rest of us will be shooting right here at home and we'd love for you to join us.
The third weekend match will be SUNDAY November 16th. We'll be shooting rain or shine as always.
THEN ... for the end of the year, we're planning a POT LUCK dinner on Saturday December 6th after our match. We'll provide a turkey dinner and fixins' and ask shooters to bring either a side dish or a desert. There's a possibility that we can use the Three Bulls Ranch very large banquet/conference room for the meal. Stay tuned for more info soon on this plan.
As for Board Business... Sundown has volunteered to become our treasurer when Weasel retires at the end of this year. We still need someone to step up as Webmaster/Secretary. Please be thinking about this. Of course all board positions will have to be "voted" upon and approved by the membership. We'll have our Club "business" meeting and conduct the voting at the December 6th Pot luck.
That's about it for now. I hope to see you at our November 1st match. If you're shooting the NC State our wishes for safe travel and best of luck go with you.
Thank you again for your continued support of The Greene County Regulators.
